Esports is moving from live-streaming to TV screens. For the first time, ESPN aired the entire Evolution Street Fighterchampionships event, which acquired 201,000 viewers—topping the Twitch online stream audience. The network also recently aired the Madden 2016 championships, followed by 10 hours of other esports content. TBS’s Counter-Strike: Global Offensive e-tournaments air on Friday nights, and earned an audience of 500,000 for its debut. Despite the complicated nature of some gameplay, audience numbers show that the evolution of esports won’t be slowing down soon. (Mashable)
