Twitch’s new food vertical is introducing Social Eating, “a new category for foodie interaction where broadcasters can not only prepare a meal in front of a streaming audience, but eat it, too.” Twitch Food originally featured cooking shows, and found that their food influencers were requesting more time to eat the dishes they prepared live, and interact with viewers. The Social Food trend originated in South Korea, where eating videos can draw in thousands of views, and hosts have become celebrities, know to make as much $100,000 a month. (StreamDaily)
