Popular teen app Wishbone has added video to its platform. In a move to compete with Snapchat, Instagram, and other “video-centric” networks, users—80% 13-18-year-olds—can now compare two 10-second videos placed side-by-side. Founder Mike Jones, who we talked to earlier this year, was inspired to create the app after conducting focus groups with teens and finding that “there’s a lot of insecurity happening on Instagram and other places.” Wishbone now has more than four million monthly users in the U.S., as well as a partnership with Disney’s Freeform network for native mobile campaigns for shows like Pretty Little Liars and Young & Hungry.
