LaSalle Network, the human resources company that made Inc.’s 50 Best Workplaces list, offers its young employees “Millennial Grandparenting” to keep them around. According to founder Tom Gimbel: “People confuse appreciation with perks,” and believes pool tables don’t contribute to work culture. Believing that his mostly Millennial staff craves guidance instead, he’s created a mentorship program being referred to as “corporate grandparenting,” there managers mentor both direct reports and the employees below them as well. Gimbel lets anyone with at least a year of experience provide council, and offers them an opportunity to meet with him one-one to ask questions and share input. (Inc.)
