Google may have the key to bringing VR to the mainstream. Their new virtual reality device Daydream has been called a “happy medium” between expensive headsets like Oculus Rift and foldable boxes like Google Cardboard. The comfortable headset will have a motion controller that syncs to not-yet released Androids, but the tech brand anticipates even more “Daydream Ready” phones as they work with partners like Samsung, HTC, LG, and others. Data is showing Google Cardboard has sold five times more headsets than Samsung’s Gear VR, indicating the desire for more affordable VR. (Fast Company)
