Art museums are turning to memes, Instagram, and Snapchat to connect with Millennials—and they’re going viral. In an effort to be “more approachable and relatable” to their core demographic, the L.A. County Museum of Art uses Snapchat to post images of their artwork along with the latest pop-culture references: picture Salomon de Bray’s “Martyrdom of Saint Lawrence,” with the caption #dadbod over it. The account has over 180,000 followers and has received up to 500 screenshots on an image—some of which have gone viral when shared on social media. (Education Week)
