Chipotle may be working on a new burger chain. Earlier this month the fast-casual food chain filed a trademark application for the name “Better Burger,” sparking speculation that they will be adding a burger concept to their portfolio of small chains, which currently include Pizzeria Locale and ShopHouse Southeast Asian Kitchen. The chains follow Chipotle’s model of customizable meals with fresh ingredients, and the new burger brand could be competition for the rapidly growing Shake Shack. (The Wall Street Journal)
