Is shorter content really better?

Mar 24 2016

Is shorter content really better? BuzzFeed has made its mark with ‘snackable’ content, but other media companies have found massive success with high-quality long-form content. Recent long-form hits with Millennials include Netflix’s Making a Murderer, the Vice series on HBO, and the Serial podcast. Gimlet Media, which focuses on long-form podcasting, has over one million audience members—a large portion of which are Millennials—and finds that longer episodes perform better than shorter ones. They report that long-form works best when it’s compassionate, authentic, and trustworthy. (Forbes)
