Instagram is following in Facebook’s footsteps and reworking their algorithm to put important content first. Currently users see posts by reverse chronological order, which means an average of 70% of their feeds can be missed. The growth of the platform has made it even more difficult to keep up with content. The plan is to begin showing users what they “care about the most,” by developing an algorithm that takes into account users’ relationships, and post timing. The change will first be tested on less than 10% of users. (Washington Post)
