According to our recent social media tracker, 53% of 13-18-year-olds are using Snapchat, and high schools have taken notice. Educators are now joining the popular platform as way to communicate reminders, announcements, and happenings around the school. Although the co-founder of Snapchat intentionally “made it very hard for parents to embarrass their children,” by focusing on the platform’s ability to “[share] personal moments,” teachers feel it’s the perfect space to reach students, and keep them engaged and informed.
