Vinyl is making its comeback for young consumers and brands are cashing in on the trend. In 2015, 12 million vinyl albums were sold, and in the first six weeks of this year sales have gone up by 17% compared to last year. For consumers, going analog has been “a bit of a lifestyle play” and brings individuality to the music they own. A vinyl of the month club called Vinyl Me, Please, which has nearly 15,000 members, concentrated on creating a “full sensory experience” by including special artwork and a cocktail recipe with each mailing. According to them: “The more digitized, more technologically advanced the world becomes, the more people crave this kind of physical, tactile experience of something.” (Adweek)
