How can roller coasters get more intense? Add a little VR. Six Flags and Samsung are teaming up to take roller coasters to the next sensory level. While riding a moving coaster, visitors at nine U.S. Six Flags will wear Samsung’s Oculus-powered Gear VR headset for a unique visual and game playing encounter.
One experience features a futuristic world where people can fire virtual weapons at aliens in an effort to save the world. For the theme park, the technology advancement will be a “game-changer.” The VR coasters are yet another example of how the future of the technology will go beyond gaming. (VentureBeat)
