The X-Files revival has sealed its position as a cult classic with a passionate fan base, and Fox is hoping to broaden its appeal further with a pair of young adult novels. The X-Files Originsbooks will follow Fox Mulder and Dana Scully as teenagers, showing the events that led into their careers in the FBI. Although there may romantic tension between the two within the television series, each YA book will be dedicated to one character—Agent of Chaos for 17-year-old Mulder and Devil’s Advocate for 15-year-old Scully. The books, both set in the spring of 1979, will be written by two New York Times best selling authors. (UPROXX, EW)
