Rebecca Minkoff say she’s the “only Millennial designer of the same age and sex as her consumer,” and she’s focused on innovation to sell to her generation. In 2015, her Fashion Week show was live-streamed and drones were used for aerial footage. This year she’ll be filming the show in virtual reality, and believes “as technology evolves, the fashion show as we know it will evolve with it.” Minkoff is also responding to the sped-up fashion cycle by showing clothes that will be available to buy in the next 45 days, as opposed to the traditional six months, to avoid “image fatigue” and fast fashion competition.
