A recent survey by Australian food ordering platform EatNow revealed that taste is the top motivator for 18-24-year-olds when choosing food, and only 35% consider pricing first when making a decision. Affordability, however, is still an issue: 53% have trouble affording Whole Foods and 39% struggle to afford seafood and meat. Young consumers are also paying attention to their peers’ dining behavior, but 69% percent said they don’t judge others eating habits and 45% are influenced by the people they live with when choosing what to eat—not including their parents.
