Facebook is ruling app downloads, according to analytics firm App Annie. Their data claims that Facebook owns the four most downloaded apps, WhatsApp, Facebook Messanger, Facebook, and Instagram (in that order). The report also uncovered that mobile games are the biggest moneymakers, and the top grossing non-game app last year was music streaming giant Spotify. (Which we’ve found is Millennials and teens’ favorite streaming service.) Shopping, ridesharing, taxi, and dating apps also made strides in 2015, with Tinder the fifth most profitable app on Google Play and the App Store combined. (The Guardian)
