Highly anticipated VR headset Oculus Rift is taking pre-orders starting today. The Facebook-owned virtual reality tech is expected to be sold with a Microsoft Xbox controller, games, and experiences, and offer a separate controller for positional tracking that allows hands and arms to be integrated into content. Oculus is one of three high-end virtual reality devices anticipated for 2016, and lower-end VR like Google Cardboard and Samsung Gear VR are already available, prompting predictions that VR could finally go mainstream this year. The industry is forecasted to generate $30 billion in annual revenue by 2020. (Fast Company)
