Those who mourn the bubble-wrapping of childhood might want to stop reading here. Parents of elementary students in a Washington state district have been protesting the ban of tag on school playgrounds, forming a group called “Support ‘tag’ at Recess.” The school district has attempted to clarify that they are introducing new “tag-like running games” that don’t involve touching (a.k.a tagging), due to “isolated incidents of unfortunate interactions” during games with contact.
