Streaming isn’t just impacting the way that young consumers access music, it’s also changing the way they “define themselves as fans.” According to Vevo’s “Music Fan Report,” over a third of Millennial music fans say they don’t prefer any particular genre, and only 25% say they are a fan of just one genre. Meanwhile, 60% say they are “always trying to find new music.” Streaming has given them easy access and broken down discovery barriers, fueling a genre-less generation of fans. (Variety)
