Older Millennials starting to splurge. According to recent data, consumers 27-35-years-old began spending twice as much as 18-26-year-olds in 2015, when the two groups had spent equally in 2014. Older Millennials reportedly spent a median amount of $180 on their most recent luxury good item, compared to younger Millennials’ $91, and Xers’ $150. Designer Jason Wu (also a Millennial) says that his peers are “now interested in long-lasting quality items, not just what is cheap and expedient.” (The Fiscal Times)
