This year’s “What I Did On My Summer Vacation” essays are going to have a whole lot of binging in them. According to a new survey, “summertime rituals” like tanning, reading, and even going to the movies are being replaced by binge-watching TV shows on streaming services. The research found 67% of U.S. consumers say they’re reading fewer books than they did on previous vacations because of binging, and 59% agree they spend less time in the sun because of streaming.
