Millennials have the reputation of being progressive and open-minded, however some white Millennials’ opinions on race may not differ greatly from their predecessors. According to data from the General Social Survey by NORC, 31% of non-Hispanic white Millennials believe African-Americans have a lazier work ethic than whites, compared to 32% of white Gen Xers and 35% of white Boomers. Although these numbers aren’t very encouraging, Ypulse’s 2015 Q1 Trend Report found that Millennials are becoming a politically activated generation, and we’re seeing a wave of young people inspired to become involved in the world in a different way.
