We’ve kept you up to date on the rise of virtual reality in movies, toys, the internet, and news as the medium becomes increasingly inexpensive and accessible. Although they’re not the first brand to test out VR in marketing, The North Face is making a unique debut at SXSW with their latest campaign, which transports customers to immersive tours of Yosemite National Park and the Moab desert via Google Cardboard. Visitors can virtually trek around the great outdoors without breaking a sweat. The experience will be rolled out in North Face flagship stores in the U.S., and is a part of several projects that aim to improve in-store experience with digital features. (Digiday)
