Kids today are reading more off of screens than any generation before them, but they might actually prefer old-school print books. Scholastic’s Kids & Family Reading Report provides a yearly snapshot of children’s reading behavior, and found that 61% of children have read an ebook, up from just 25% in 2010. But 77% of those that have read an ebook say that most of the books they read are in print, and 65% believe they’ll always want to read print books. Whether in digital or print, they want to read something funny: 70% of 6-17-year-olds say they want books that make them laugh. (Washington Post)
