Have you seen an elephant fly? You will soon. Disney has announced a live-action remake of Dumbo that will be directed by Tim Burton, who helped Alice in Wonderland gross $1 billion. The film is expected to be a mixture of computer-generated effects and live actors, and could tell a variation of the story in the original movie. The film is the latest addition to the line up of live-action reboots that Disney is “aggressively pursuing,” including the recent Cinderella, and upcoming The Jungle Book and Beauty and the Beast. Remaking these classics could be an attempt to capture both young viewers and nostalgic older generations. (Wall Street Journal)
