Millennials seem to show comparatively little interest in golf, but the PGA Tour is courting the 18-to-34-year-old “mobile-savvy, always-on, rapid-fire content consumer” on YouTube with an edgy joint venture called Skratch TV. This “whip-smart, funny, and a little bit brash” online initiative with the slogan “Golf. But Louder.” is a vast departure from traditional coverage of the sport, and the PGA Tour brand won’t be prominently associated with it. Skratch TV will host golf lifestyle and celebrity topics, and aims to interest younger viewers who could someday become real gold fans. (Wall Street Journal)
