One 11-year-old girl’s letter to DC Comics has gone viral.

Feb 03 2015

One 11-year-old girl’s letter to DC Comics has gone viral. The letter expresses young Rowan’s disappointment in the fact that there are very few female superheroes, and even fewer TV shows and movies about female superheroes. She wrote, “Please do something about this. Girls read comics too and they care.” DC Comics was also publicly criticized for lack of females in their comics and merchandise when the hashtag #WhyWonderWoman surfaced a few months ago. In an effort to turn the conversation around, the brand smartly responded to Rowan on Twitter, saying “We agree, we’re working hard to create more superhero fun for girls.” (BuzzFeed)
