Student loans are a huge financial burden to many Millennials—a 2014 Ypulse monthly survey found that half of Millennials 18-24-years-old had taken out student loans. Could there be a future where that burden is removed? Last week President Obama informed America that he will be calling on Congress to pass legislation that makes the first two years of community college free. Though the proposal is “unlikely to happen,” it introduces the concept of rewarding responsible students, and could “spread through states and cities” in the same way that free pre-K education has.
