Music streaming surged 54% last year and a 2014 Ypulse monthly survey found that at least 69% of Millennials are listening to music on their smartphones—clear evidence of Millennials’ preferred way of accessing music. To better compete with popular streaming services like Spotify, Apple is rumored to be lowering the monthly subscription price of their Beats Music to $5. While streaming is winning out over digital and physical album sales, which dropped 9% in 2014, vinyl sales climbed 52% last year. This is not the first time, and definitely not the last, that we'll be seeing brands profit off nostalgic items. (AppleInsider)
