Vape ‘em if you’ve got ‘em. According to the National Institute on Drug Abuse’s 2014 survey, vaping e-cigarettes is more popular than smoking tobacco cigarettes among teens, and regular smoking among 8th, 10th, and 12th graders is at its lowest levels in the history of the survey. While nearly 9% of 8th graders had vaped in the last 30 days, only 4% had smoked. However, it is not clear how harmful e-cigs are, and experts are not sure if vaping could lead to smoking, “creating a new batch of nicotine addicts who might take up more dangerous habits down the road.” (NYMag)
