The trend of anonymity and privacy in social media is leading to some interesting applications. The latest is Outpour, which lets users post anonymous messages of gratitude to friends and acquaintances. The app is meant to bring out the best in people, which is a direct contrast to some of the negativity that anonymous apps have bred in the past. The Outpour team has designed the app to make trolling more difficult, and wants to “embolden people to share good thoughts they might otherwise keep to themselves.” (Wired)
