It may be that Millennials can afford homes—but just not where they want to live. Young consumers 20-34-year-olds make up a larger part of the population in the cities where they are least likely to be able to afford purchasing a house. For example, in San Diego this age group makes up almost 25% of the population, but only 18% of housing is in their budget range.
