Millennials and teens love L.L. Bean’s boots so much the brand is suffering a shortage. The company reports they anticipate selling around 450,000 pairs of bean boots this year, which is a significant increase from 2013, and that between 60,000-100,000 people have placed boot orders that won’t be delivered until after the holidays. A spokesperson says that young consumers are behind the demand: “’Younger people are buying them. They’re all over college campuses and high schools…Without changing anything, they’re back in style.’” (Boston)
