Legions of ‘90s kids hoarded beanie babies they thought would one day be worth millions. Sadly for them, this dream did not come true—but if they held on to their American Girl Dolls they might be in luck. The five original Pleasant Company dolls are currently selling for hundreds on eBay, with some being posted for up to $1,990. Most of these original dolls, launched in 1986, have been discontinued, but clearly there is a nostalgia market for them—perhaps among older Millennials who don’t really want to grow up.
