Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events was a favorite books series of kids growing up in the early 2000s (Millennials) and adapted into a very popular film starring Jim Carrey in 2004. Now it’s being given new life: Netflix is fast-tracking a project to make a live-action Lemony Snicket original series. The VP of original content for Netflix said of the decision, “On the search for fantastic material that appeals to both parents and kids, the first stop for generations of readers is ‘A Series of Unfortunate Events.'” (Variety, Deadline)
