Are Millennials saving the music business with EDM? Music sales are struggling, but EDM (Electronic Dance Music, in case you haven’t been paying attention) is booming. Concert promoter Live Nation calls it their “fastest growing genre,” and it’s the only one that did not see a decline in digital downloads last year. While older generations might not understand the appeal, brands are capitalizing on the genre’s popularity, sponsoring EDM events and making it “arguably is the most corporatized form of music in generations.” (Quartz)
