A college degree in computer science is becoming unnecessary in the current landscape of computer programming, where kids are being hired straight from intensive training programs, and some with just self-taught skills. It’s been predicted that by 2020, one million computer programming positions will go unfilled, and as the field transitions into a trade of experience and not theory, real world practice in coding websites and apps will count more than classroom time.
