The fight for positivity on social media might be on, but it’s no secret that girls can be pretty harsh with one another online.

The fight for positivity on social media might be on, but it’s no secret that girls can be pretty harsh with one another online. One new study has found that Millennial women judge other women who post too-sexy profile pictures. The women, ages 13-25, overall found a less modest Facebook profile, “less physically attractive, less socially attractive, and less competent in general.” The study hints at one of the difficulties this generation of girls has representing themselves online: many feel a pressure to show they are sexually attractive, but their peers are likely to judge them for broadcasting anything they deem inappropriate.
