Denny’s knack for quirky digital marketing continues. The brand’s latest out-of-the-box effort is a partnership with Atari, who we mentioned in our E3 roundup would be returning to the market via mobile. That return is actually through the diner chain, which is launching three of Atari’s classic games via Denny’s app. The games are renamed to incorporate Denny’s products—Asteroids is now Hashteroids, etc. Thought AdAge says that the campaign is aimed at Gen Xers who grew up with Atari, the fact is Millennials’ nostalgia is not limited to just the years they have been alive, and they are just as likely to appreciate the effort.
