Wearable tech is still in its early stages, and right now it looks like smartbands might become mainstream for kids before it does for adults. The Leap Band is a virtual pet platform designed for kids ages 4-7 that aims to teach them about healthy eating while tracking their activity. The interface has wearers complete active tasks like “hop like a kangaroo” in order to make their pet happy, unlocking new challenges the more they exercise. (Springwise)
