A decade after the last episode aired, the sitcom Friends finds its way into China –but not in the way you’d think. In true 2013 style, China has taken on Friends as an alternate reality, creating a real-life café dedicated to the show and a similarly themed web series. It’s known as Beijing’s Central Perk where the waitresses are all named “Rachel” and owner, whose real name is Du Xin, goes by the name of “Gunther”. The café is known to be a place for stress-releif for Chinese, white-collared twentysomethings. (JWT Intelligence)
