There’s an increase in the number of students who are taking community-college classes while in high school as a way to gain college credits faster and in a more affordable way. Dual-enrollment programs are offered for both remedial and accelerated purposes and nearly 855,000 students under 18 were enrolled in them for the 2011-2012 year. (WSJ)
