Universal isn't giving up on turning toys into movies (“Battleship” didn't do so well), planning to release a film based on Lego's Hero Factory in 2014. The robot characters already have a full backstory about being produced to fight off an alien invasion of Earth, making it easier to translate the franchise to film in a way that would appeal to both kids and adults.
