Youth Media And Marketing Movers & Shakers

Today we bring you another installment of Youth Media Movers and Shakers. We’ve culled through industry publications looking for the recent executive placements we think you should know about. If you have executive news that you want us to highlight in our next “Movers and Shakers,” email us.

Twentieth Century Fox Consumer Products has two executive announcements: Nabil Kazi is named VP, Global Promotions. Kazi will set the global licensed promotions strategy for Fox’s TV properties as part of his new role. His previous posts included VP, Global Marketing and Publicity for Disney Animation and DisneyToon Studios. Morgan Chess is promoted to VP, Digital Strategy and Commerce. In her new role, Chess will handle digital and e-commerce strategy planning for Fox Consumer Products’ portfolio. Prior to joining Fox, Chess spent more than a decade in the digital space at Disney and Universal McCann. (Via Variety, reg required)

Jason DeMarco is promoted to VP of Strategic Marketing and Promotions for Cartoon Network and Adult Swim within Turner Broadcasting System’s Animation, Young Adults, and Kids Media (AYAKM). DeMarco, who was most recently Cartoon Network and Adult Swim’s Creative Director of Sales and Promotions, will be tasked with creating and executing promotional marketing programs that grow each network both on and off-channel. Marie Claire announces three hires: Carol Atalla has been appointed International Fashion and Luxury Director; most recently she was International Fashion and Luxury Director for Lucky magazine. Brian Roy has been appointed Account Director overseeing the magazine’s Lifestyle accounts; most recently he was with Glamour where he was International Fashion and Luxury Director. Stephanie Clement has been appointed Marie Claire’s Detroit Director; previously she was atThe Atlantic where she successfully created and sold custom integrated media campaigns for their clients. Following the merger, Lionsgate has decided to the marketing chiefs from both Lionsgate and Summit. Tim Palen, Lionsgate’s CMO, has signed a new deal that will keep him in his job through 2015. The studio is also keeping Nancy Kirkpatrick in her current job as President of Marketing for Summit, which is now a Lionsgate label. (Via LA Times)

Insight Strategy Group announces promotions and hires: Mia Scelsiis promoted to Associate Director/Operations; she was most recently Manager of Operations. Andi Click rises to Senior Project Manager; Click has held several positions with the company, the most recent being Manager. Jillian Rodriguez is named to the newly created position of Creative Writer; she was most recently with ArtTable.org where she was Membership & Communications Manager. Claire Taylor will join the Macmillan sales department as a National Account Manager selling Macmillan Children’s Publishing Group and Macmillan distributed publisher children’s titles to Walmart, Walmart Canada, Sam’s, Costco, and their distribution partners. Viacom announces three hires: Melanie DiMemmo and Sarah Ioosswill lead Digital Ad Sales out of the company’s New York headquarters, and Sharon Silverstein will oversee West Coast business out of the company’s Los Angeles offices. (Via MediaPost)
