With over 2.2M views on TikTok, #RottingInBed may sound gross and unproductive, but it’s really just a harmless way young people are recuperating and recharging after a long day / week. While rotting away in bed for hours, ordering takeout, and binging TikTok, YouTube, or their streaming service of choice isn’t an entirely new concept, the idea of it being lazy is changing for Gen Z.
