It looks like Amazon didn’t get Instagram’s memo—they’re testing a TikTok-like feed in their app. The ecommerce giant has vertical photo and video feeds in its app (strictly among staff at the moment). On TikTok, Amazon product recommendations are extremely popular, with the hashtag #AmazonFinds having over 25.6 billion views. Now, Amazon wants their consumers to have access to these finds directly through their own app. Although, young consumers may find that Amazon’s new marketing is inauthentic compared to a more organic social media post. After all, YPulse research shows 54% of young consumers say they have purchased something after an online celebrity (big or small) spoke about it or recommended it. (WSJ, TechCrunch)
