Nickelodeon’s Slime Cup is a new, hour-long golf special aimed at families. Similar to Nickelodeon’s slime-filled NFL coverage, Slime Cup features four teams of pro golfers, celebrities, and channel stars who compete against each other in a two-round tournament on a tricked out golf course. The special is set to premiere this summer, and participants include pro golfers Collin Morikawa, Justin Thomas, Lexi Thompson, and Jon Rahm; NFL players Saquon Barkley and Justin Herbert; and actors and Nick stars Terry Crews, Isaiah Crews, Kate Godfrey, Jaidyn Triplett, and Tyler Wladis. The Slime Cup brand has existed since 2014 as a multi-platform kids experience, and the new hour-long Slime Cup special shows how the Paramount-owned channel is experimenting with more kids-focused sports content. YPulse’s Scouting Next Gen Sports Fans trend research shows 85% of Millennial parents say their kid(s) enjoys watching sports games and sports-related content. (Kidscreen)
