Millennials are outpacing Gen X and Boomers as the largest buyers of pickup trucks and electric vehicles.

Millennials are outpacing Gen X and Boomers as the largest buyers of pickup trucks and electric vehicles. Contrary to popular belief, Millennials are interested in driving and owning cars, and YPulse’s Driving Forward trend research shows 19% of 25-39-year-olds are actually more interested in buying a car because of COVID-19. Millennials are now the largest generation of new car buyers, and the vehicle they’re going for these days? Pickup trucks. For the first time this year, Millennials will be the largest buyers of midsize, full-size, and heavy-duty pickup trucks as they move to suburban areas and get promoted in their jobs, notes J.D. Power’s vice president of data and analytics. The company also reports Millennials are the largest buyers of electric vehicles (EVs), representing 35% of new EV purchases this year compared to Baby Boomers (29%) and Gen X (26%). (CNBC)
