TikTok’s new Jump feature is leaning (hard) into third-party content.

TikTok’s new Jump feature is leaning (hard) into third-party content. This week the app rolled out a new way for creators to expand their content with third-parties through TikTok Jump—a program allowing creators to add links to their clips that lead to additional in-app content like recipes, quizzes, flashcards, and beauty tutorials. For example, a TikTok creator specializing in fitness could link to breathing exercises on Breathwrk or an influencer recommending a restaurant could share a reservation link for Tablelog directly in their video. Jump is essentially TikTok’s version of Snap Minis, minus the ecommerce component (at least for now). TikTok continues to be a trend engine where young consumers are discovering everything from recipes to products to career tips, and Jump is adding a new layer of discovery to keep users engaged in the app. BuzzFeed, Jumprope, and Watcha are just a few of the third-party collaborators who will be joining Jump soon, and more providers can apply to be part of the program.
