FuboTV wants to bring sports betting to game time streaming. To test whether viewers of FuboTV’s Roku and Android apps are interested in betting on games through their television, the sports streaming platform is rolling out new beta features during the Confederación Sudamericana de Fútbol (CONMEBOL) qualifiers. Included in the features, viewers will have the ability to scroll up on a video stream to view live stats and answer a series of quiz questions for the chance to win a free year of Fubo’s service (which costs $65 per month). Fubo’s effort is part of a bigger plan to let people bet on games through their televisions, although they’ll need to move slowly to ensure there’s A) an audience for betting and B) they can do so safely (and legally). YPulse’s Scouting Next Gen Sports Fans trend data shows that 33% of young sports fans are only interested in sports if betting is involved, signaling that young people should be a focus for brands playing with sports betting.
